After making waves with their Fw18 fashion show this week, Gucci and Alessandro Michele are back in the news. This time with a more respectable theme: They have announced a donation towards gun control. As you may know, the United States were shook up once again last week by the school shooting in Parkland, Florida that killed 17 people. This set into motion a chain of protests and initiatives, including the March For Our Lives which hopes to bring change in gun legislation in the US.Michele and Gucci have now donated $500,000 to that cause.
In an interview with WWD, he stated: “I am truly moved by the courage of these students. I am standing with March for Our Lives and the strong young women and men across the United States who are fighting for their generation and those to come.”
