Balenciaga and Kering Eyewear have just announced a partnership that will bring a full collection of frames to fruition in early 2019. Clearly taking cues from the public’s interest in the shades he always sends down the runway, Demna is sure to have played a big role in this one.
Note that this is not Balenciaga’s first venture into eyewear as the brand used to produce their frames through a partnership with Marcolin. Apparently, working with the parent company (Balenciaga is owned by Kering, fyi…) just made that much more sense.
On the joyous news, Balenciaga’s Cédric Charbit noted: “We are delighted to collaborate with Kering Eyewear. We will rely on their exclusive expertise to fully exploit and reach Balenciaga’s potential in the category.”
