Based on the argument that two heads are better than one, there is a new exhibition set to open soon that celebrates creative collaborations and duos in fashion. Called “Fashion Together” and opening September 8th at the Fashion Space Gallery, the exhibition was curated by Lou Stoppard and explores the relationships of fashion’s iconic pairs like Rick Owens & Michele Lamy, Alexander McQueen and Shaun Leane, as well as photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. On the exhibition, Stoppard noted: “I’m interested in lasting partnerships – the formative, friendships, the unions that exist behind the scenes or the decades-long working relationships that have shaped each participant’s vision and life.” What will be displayed during the exhibition are the likes of sketches and notes between the chosen pairs as well as the products of their collaborations, in order to create insight into the collaborative process. There will also be a book by the same featuring 18 duos on their collaborations over the years.
