Starting her career as a model for Chanel and later on becoming one of YSL’s muses after meeting the late designer in a night club in Paris, French socialite Betty Catroux is back. She currently front’s the Parisian house’s SS18 campaign which also features a film by David Sims.
The influence of Catroux on the brand should not be underestimated, as she and Loulou de la Falaise’s bohemian style heavily influenced its output in the 1960’s. She also became the face of the 1966 Rive Gauche collection. Throughout the decades, the remained something of a muse, with Tom Ford dedicating his debut YSL collection to her and Hedi Slimane regularly casting lookalikes during his tenure at the house.
