In case you haven’t noticed, the ’90s are back. This couldn’t be more true than when Cindy Crawford and her ’90s supermodel friends reunited for The Reunion, a short film featuring famous supermodels of the 1990s, shot by photographer and filmmaker Peter Lindbergh. Crawford and Lindbergh both posted pictures on their Instagram accounts with sneak peeks of the project. With these two involved, it’s sure to be good. The 1990s were the age of the supermodel. Some say it’s being recreated today, but Karlie, Cara, and Kendall don’t hold a candle (yet) to Crawford. Lindbergh is famous in his own right for being one of the most iconic fashion photographers in the world. He’s photographed Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, and Kate Moss, and was the subject of a Telegraph profile last year. “He really sees the beauty in a mature woman,”Crawford said in a four-minute film on Nowness about the project. “Through experience, through having children, through heartbreaks, through love, through all of that.” Nowness posted the behind-the-scenes video of the shoot, but it’ll be exciting to see what Crawford and Lindbergh will be doing with the photographs. Along with Crawford, Lindbergh shot Karen Alexander, Nadja Auermann, Helena Christensen, Eva Herzigova, and Tatjana Patitz. While some of those models may sound slightly familiar, they’re not exactly as widely known as Crawford. At least, not to those of us who were born post-1995.
