Designers’ interpretations of Cinderella’s glass slippers, Little Red Riding Hood’s red woolen cloak, Snow White in a black gown and The Little Mermaid’s fishtail skirt are among the looks that will be highlighted at the “Fairy Tale Fashion” exhibition at the Fashion Institute of Technology Museum Jan. 15 to April 16. Organized by associate curator Colleen Hill, the exhibition spotlights more than 80 objects placed within dramatic, fantasylike settings designed by architect Kim Ackert. The exhibition includes garments and designers dating from the 18th century to the present. Among present-day designers featured are Thom Browne, Tom Ford, Mary Katrantzou, Marchesa, Alexander McQueen, Rick Owens, Prada, Rodarte, and Walter Van Beirendonck. Get more information HERE
