Grace Coddington steps down Grace Coddington, longtime creative director at American Vogue, is stepping down from her role. The stylist, who began her career in fashion as a model and was hired by US Vogue editor Anna Wintour in 1988, will assume the role of creative director-at-large, working on several Vogue fashion shoots throughout the year, as she pursues projects outside the magazine. Her successor has not yet been named.
