News broke earlier today that legendary DJ and producer Avicii was found dead at the age of 28. A statement released by his representatives read: “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.” Details surrounding his untimely death are still unclear.
Avicii broke into the international music scene following the release of his electrifying “Levels” track, which shot to the No. 1 spot around the world in no time. He followed that up with several smash hits, including “Wake Me Up” and “Sunshine”. In 2016, he decided to end the touring part of his career due to health issues.
He will surely be missed.
