As you may recall, during their 2018 resort collection presented earlier this year, Gucci showed some pieces that were eerily similar to pieces that had been put forth by Harlem legend Dapper Dan. Following a whole lot of backlash on social media, Gucci have apparently set out to make things right by partnering with Dan in their latest tailoring campaign. Having Dan play a leading role in this campaign is significant in another way as well, as he is renowned for his made-to-order designs that became popular in NYC in the 1980s and early 90s. According to reports, Dan is also reopening is Harlem boutique with the help of Gucci in the same neighbourhood that is used as a backdrop for the campaign which was shot by Glen Luchford.
