News broke today that Kris van Assche, the Belgian designer who has been at the helm at Dior Homme for 11 years, is stepping down. This is just the latest is a slew of high-profile shifts that have taken place in the fashion world over the past few months, with Phoebe Philo, Hedi Slimane, Christopher Bailey and Riccardo Tisci all swapping roles. Rumour has it that Van Assche will be replaced by former Louis Vuitton style director Kim Jones.
On the move, Van Assche noted: “It is with great emotion that I thank my team, my studio and the ateliers. Their support and their unique talent and savoir-faire have made all my creations possible.ˮ
