According to several sources, one of our favourite creative directors of this time, Phoebe Philo, is set to depart Céline soon. According to these sources, her departure is so imminent that LVMH (the brand’s parent company) have begun interviewing designers to replace her. Her departure will be a sad turn for the brand, as Philo is credited by many for turning the struggling French brand around after takin the reins back in 2008. It should be noted that LVMH have denied any claims that point to Philo’s departure, but BoF reports: “Industry sources said potential replacements for Philo could include former Stella McCartney design director Natasa Cagalj, who is now at Ports 1961 and has a similar aesthetic.” Whatever turns this may take, she will always be a legend in our book.
