A new exhibition, called “My Name Is Prince” is set to open in London’s O2 Arena this October which features pieces from the personal collection of the late pop star Prince. Items to be featured include the orange Cloud guitar from his Super Bowl halftime performance and the purple jacket and ruffled shirt from the “Purple Rain”, giving an intimate look into the late artist’s life. One standout piece from the collection was named to be the orange guitar by Prince’s sister, Tyka Nelson. She told Evening Standard that “people always associate the color purple with Prince, but his favourite color was actually orange.” She went on to state that London was picked as the opening city for the exhibition because the city that accepted the musician the most. He also performed at the O2 for 21 consecutive nights back in 2007. “It was always his wish to make all of the material made public, and I will do everything in my power to make sure his wish comes true.” The exhibition opens October 26th, with tickets becoming available this week.
