No longer mere celebrities looking to break into the world of fashion, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have blessed us with several collections containing the highest end materials; cashmeres silks and furs. During their SS18 presentation held at the Carlyle Hotel, they stuck with the saying: “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. “We wanted something softer, more romantic,” Ashley told Vogue afterward. “With everything so harsh, we wanted to take it down, show lightness.” What came of this goal was a collection featuring soft tones, full-length tunics and yards and yards of silk. It should be noted that the collection wasn’t all softness, as there were also stone-washed denims and Keds here and there, but the overall “Park Ave.” feel the twins usually work into their collections was more than palpable.
