The most recent in the slew of collaborations between high-end designers and sportwear brands is the one between Victoria Beckham and Reebok. The first two drops of the collaboration are slated for a May and July release, with the focus of the collection being primarily on vintage pieces by Reebok. One of these is, of course, the iconic Shaquille O’Neal slam-dunk tee which was popular throughout the mid-90’s. Of course, Victoria reached out to the legendary Laker to announce the launch of the collaboration.
Additional, and perhaps even more notable pieces which are set to drop later in the year are Beckham-designed sneakers for Reebok. “If you want a proper sneaker, these sportswear brands have years of experience, and work with great technicians. It’s hard to do a sneaker and for it to feel really authentic, so for me the best way to do that was to partner with someone I could work with”n noted Victoria in an interview with i-D.
And so, although summer is only around the corner, we definitely have something to look forward to towards the end of the year besides Christmas.
