Virgil Abloh Is Louis Vuitton’s New Artistic Director Of Menswear

A while ago, it was announced that Kim Jones was to leave Louis Vuitton as artistic director of menswear. Last week, it was announed that he would replace Kris van Assche at Dior Homme, which was quite a surprise to many in the industry. Well, hold on to your hats, because the Louis Vuitton have just names none other than Off-White’s Virgil Abloh as their new artistic director of menswear. This is extremely exciting news for all of us who have been avid fans of the designer for years now, even from his early Pyrex days. Aside from the fact that this, yet again, validates the influence and importance of streetwear in modern culture, it is also an amazing achievement for diversity in the fashion industry.

On the move, Abloh noted: “It is an honour for me to accept the position of Men’s Artistic Director for Louis Vuitton. I find the heritage and creative integrity of the House are key inspirations and will look to reference them both while drawing parallels to modern times.”

His first show for the house is slated for June and we can’t wait!
