Christopher Kane will show the artwork behind his latest collections at his Mount Street store location in London. Rooted in the principal of Outsider Art, commented on the inspiration behind the collections: “That feeling of a skill or expression that just seems to come from nowhere. For me it’s raw emotion – a lot of the stuff I like has this primal look to it, like Aboriginal rock painting.” It has to be said that the inspiration behind the collections, for example SS 2016’s “Crash and Repair”, is clearly visible with the chaotic stitches and acid colour palette. Although it may seem haphazard to some, there clearly is order to Kane’s chaos, which he confesses is rather therapeutic. Works on show include those by Ionel Talpazan who has been noted as the inspiration behind Kane’s FW17 collection. Make sure to check out the show, which is on until the 25th of October.
