We’re well sure you’ve seen the image on social media by now: two queens sitting front row at the Richard Quinn show yesterday. Of course we mean Her Majesty The Queen and Anna Wintour. For the second it is somewhat obvious why she was sitting front row, but regarding the first, most people were somewhat stumped by her presence. Perhaps she’s a frequent customer of Quinn’s?
Actually, she was there to present Quinn with the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design. The award offers a legacy of support for the influence of the fashion industry throughout the Queen’s reign. Quinn was the first recipient of the award; a testament to his talent and dedication to his craft.
We’re curious whether the Queen will be present for the ceremony every year from now on.
