Chanel Pledges 25 Million Euro Towards The Restoration Of The Grand Palais

Today, France’s Minister Of Culture, Françoise Nyssen, presented a three-year, 446 million Euro plan for the renovation of the Grand Palais in Paris. The building, now over a hundred years old, was constructed for the World Fair held in Paris in 1900. With Paris set to host the 2024 Olympics, there’s a need for a bit of a facelift.

Exciting news in this field is that Parisian fashion house Chanel has pledges 25 million towards the renovation, which seems befitting considering the fact that the house has frequented the Palais for their shows since 2005. This pledge is also a premiere in France as no other organisation or company has ever contributed such a large amount to the restoration to date.
