In celebration of his 100th collection, presented during the women’s FW RTW fashion show in Paris last March, Dries van Noten invited generations of models to walk the runway. These included the likes of Kristina de Coninck, Amber Valletta, Anne Catherine Lacroix, Alek Wek and Cecilia Chancellor. To continue the celebrations, the designer is now releasing a two-volume retrospective book to be published on October 1 by Lanoo. Volume 1 features the first 50 shows, while the second features the other 50. Both volumes will feature over 1000 unpublished photos that detail everything from the runway to the invitations and the backstage ambience. Both will be priced at around €100. In a statement, Van Noten commented: “I like the idea that this commemorates my past so that I may just focus on the future and further evolving as a designer from now. I originally published a book to commemorate my 50th show and so it came naturally to also do so for the 100th. The 100th show itself was a celebration and I wanted to make it last.”
