Launching today via Selfridges is Virgil Abloh’s latest collaboration, this time with Byredo. The collaborative project is entitled “Elevator Music” and its concept is built around our interactions with luxury. “The concept was to define emotion with the least amount effects,” explains Abloh. “Much like literal elevator music, we wanted the scent to play a background to one’s life.”
“I knew Virgil even before the inception of Off-White, so it’s great to be able to finally realise a project together within our respective brands,” noted Byredo’s creative director Ben Gorham. “We have always shared a common understanding that relevance is everything, and that the rules of our industry need to be somehow rewritten.”
Of course, an Off-White exclusive would not be the same without a modern-art installation and this one is no different. The space has been done up to feature specialised soundscapes and art to add a multi-sensory layer. As for the actual pieces featured in the collection, think fragrances, creams and beach bags. Perfect for the warm weather.
The collab will be available until the 29th of April at Selfridges.
