Raf Simons Continues To Blow Minds With Calvin Klein’s SS18 Collection

Raf Simons and Pieter Mulier continued their American experiment over at Calvin Klein last night, adding more layers for SS18 in comparison to the denim-heavy, dinner uniform heavy FW17 collection. For his latest collection for the American powerhouse, Simons employed everything from Warhol prints to cheerleader prints. Guests, who included everyone from Mahershala Ali to Simons muse Milly Bobby Brown, saw models strut down the runway in a plethora of fabrics, including rubber, cut in 1950’s silhouettes, against a Sterling Ruby background of pompoms and metal buckets. ck On his inspiration, or perhaps motivation, behind the collection, Simons credited television, stating that the TV industry employs a sense of freedom that is lacking in fashion. He stated: “Fashion, has embraced too much the spectators’ expectations.” In doing so, Simons is continuing along the rather risky path he set out for Calvin Klein last season. Be that as it may, the experiment appears to be working, mesmerising crowds all over the world. As such, we hope there will be plenty more to come. Check out all the looks here. ck
