Most of you probably know him because he was referenced by- and featured in the Gucci tailoring campaign in 2017, but Dapper Dan has been around for decades. His legend started in the 1980’s when he outfitted early hip-hop stars like LL Cool J and celebrities like Mike Tyson with bootleg designer gear. After legal troubles that forced him to shut down in the early 90’s, his return to the scene was set into motion by Alessandro Michele last year. Now, there’s news that ta biopic about the Harlem designer is in the works.
The story will be set around his heyday in Harlem and will be produced by Dan himself. We look forward to seeing the life story of someone has been so influential in an unconventional way on the world of fashion.
