The big moves in the fashion industry just keep on coming. Late yesterday it was announced that, after a tenure of just two years, Haider Ackermann will be leaving Berluti. We have to say that we’re quite sad about this one, as Ackermann managed to infuse the Italian house with an unprecedented air of romance and even rock ‘n’ roll, which resulted in artistically magnificent collections.
On the move, Ackermann noted: “I am immensely proud to have been able to put my creativity at the service of this House with an exceptional know-how, whilst working with a passionate team. I thank them for their commitment.”
In turn, Berluti’s CEO, Antoine Arnault stated: “Haider has been at the core of the evolution of Berluti’s collections and image these past few seasons. I want to thank him for everything he has accomplished since his arrival. His feel for materials, colours, and his wonderful shows will always be linked to the history of the House.”
Although no successor has been announced, the rumour mill in churning and suggests Kris va Assche might take the reins.
