Proenza Schouler is set to release a secondary collection, called “White Label”, coming November. Although it is not to be considered a secondary line as of yet, more so a “sister”, the collection will comprise of casual pieces like denim, tees and other basics. This is most likely an effort to make the brand more accessible in turn boost the revenue generated through the business.
This move follows the previous big one by the brand, in which they realigned their spring show to the Paris couture schedule, most likely to get more of its runway show into stores and take advantage of the bigger budgets afforded to the pre-collections.
On that move to Paris and their departure from the NY schedule, Lazaro Hernandez stated back in January: “Jack and I pour our blood, sweat and tears into [the runway]. It definitely has changed a lot since we first started showing. There are still super interesting people showing in New York, but there’s a lot of things that we’re not that interested in in New York.”
Proenza Schouler’s first fragrance is due out early next year.
