Lovers of Céline, Hedi Slimane and fashion in general have an amazing reason to rejoice today, as it was just announced that mr. Slimane has been named Artistic Director over at the French fashion house. Not too long ago we received the somewhat disturbing news that Phoebe Philo would leave the house, leaving a gap and shock in her wake. This news, of course, more than makes up for it all.
Avid lovers of mr. Slimane might remember him for his revolutionary work over at Dior Homme during the 00’s, even prompting Karl Lagerfeld to lose weight just to fit into pieces by Slimane. You might also remember him for his major impact over at Saint Laurent, singlehandedly rebranding the house from YSL to the more subtle Saint Laurent we know it as today.
